About Kelsey Middleton
Kelsey Middleton
Hello and welcome! My name is Kelsey and I am in my third year of graduate school in the Transpersonal Art Therapy program at Naropa University. My belief is that all human beings hold the capacity to heal within themselves, and that there is a tremendous amount of room for healing to occur. The heart of healing is being present and compassionate to what is, while also being supported and witnessed in that presence and compassion.
I would love to support you in that journey.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I spent many years living immersed in the natural world, eventually deep diving into the studies of western herbalism. My primary teachers were Karyn Sanders and Sarah Holmes of the Blue Otter Herbalism School. These teachers greatly influenced my lens of slowing down, practicing presence, seeking guidance from plants and natural beings, gratitude, and empowerment.
My undergraduate focus was sociocultural anthropology, developing my interests in the diversity of culture, ways of communication, and the various connections between natural beings, humans, and creativity.
As a therapist, I hold a holistic therapeutic approach, appreciating how the mind, body, and spirit all contribute to health, well-being, and balance. It is my intention to connect people to both their relationship to nature while also deepening their relationship to their artistic and creative being. There is a sacred space where nature and our artist selves meet, and I hope to explore and uncover what that might mean for you.
I offer a variety of therapeutic interventions including mindfulness, somatic embodiment, nature-connection, art-based, and creative expression. We can meet for sessions inside, outside, or weave between the two.
Outside of my professional work, I love to make all kinds of art, play music, sleep outside, and go on walks with my dog and partner.
I invite you to reach out as I’d love to walk side by side and support you in your therapeutic journey!
